Last week, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Nearly one in eight women in the United States will face this diagnosis. Every day, these women continue to raise their families, go to work, and serve their communities with strength and determination. I now join their ranks. I am grateful to have an outstanding team of doctors who detected the cancer early and are guiding my care, and I am encouraged by a very good prognosis. I am also deeply thankful for the support and encouragement of President Trump as I undergo treatment and continue serving in my role as White House Chief of Staff.

I met @ZohranKMamdani after the primaries. The reason he can't explain away his support for slogans like "Globalize the Intifada" is that they represent his core beliefs. He does not hide it; to the contrary, he is proud of it...

The strongest feeling I have right now is betrayal. Not outrage or even shock. Just that dull, sinking sense that the people you thought shared your basic sense of decency don’t actually see you at all. After watching Zohran Mamdani win, it’s hard to put that feeling into words. It’s not the extremists who bother me. Their hatred is loud, crude, and easy to recognize. What’s harder to accept is the quiet betrayal from the people around us. The people on the subway, in the office, at the grocery store. The people who smile politely, talk about tolerance, post about kindness, and still walked into a voting booth and chose someone who excuses violence against Jews. That kind of betrayal cuts differently. Because it tells you something uncomfortable about where you live. It tells you that antisemitism doesn’t always look like what we were taught to expect. It doesn’t always come with torches. Sometimes it wears a progressive label and speaks in the language of empathy. Sometimes it cloaks itself in “justice” and “freedom.” And sometimes it votes for a man who refuses to condemn a terrorist group that slaughtered Jewish families in their homes. That’s the part people don’t understand. The betrayal isn’t some abstract thing. It’s personal. It’s looking around at your city, at the people you’ve worked alongside, volunteered with, trusted, and realizing that when it came down to something as basic as condemning terrorism, they couldn’t bring themselves to care. And maybe that’s what hurts most. Not that they hate us, but that we simply don’t register. Jews have always been the easiest group to overlook. We don’t fit neatly into their moral frameworks. We are both too safe and too threatened, too privileged and too persecuted, too familiar and too foreign. So people convince themselves that antisemitism is someone else’s problem, somewhere else. And when confronted with it in their own backyard, they look away. They rationalize it. They call it “complex.” That’s what betrayal looks like in the modern age. Over a million people voted for Mamdani. Over a million people heard him refuse to call on Hamas to disarm and decided it didn’t matter. Over a million people looked past his rhetoric, his alliances, and his record and said he represents us. They should be ashamed to look their Jewish neighbors, friends, and coworkers in the eye. Because they voted to normalize a worldview that treats Jewish safety as negotiable. It would be easy to blame all of this on ideology alone, but there’s something deeper going on. America is struggling. People are drowning in rent, debt, and uncertainty. They are desperate for someone to tell them they’ve been wronged and that someone else is to blame. In that desperation, people stop thinking clearly. They mistake emotion for morality. They reach for simple answers, for villains to hate, for movements that promise fairness without effort. That’s what Mamdani offers, not solutions but moral anesthesia. He tells people that their frustration is righteous, that their anger is justice, and that their failures are someone else’s fault. It’s intoxicating. It makes people feel noble without requiring them to take responsibility. But when anger becomes identity, empathy dies. And when empathy dies, betrayal begins. That’s what this election revealed. A political shift, but also a moral one. A city that once prided itself on toughness and decency now seems willing to excuse hate as long as it’s packaged in the right words. The betrayal is of the city’s own conscience. Well, since you asked... "Trunk-or-treat" is one of the absolute worst tragedies to befall our culture. Do not, under any circumstances, bring your children to a "trunk-or-treat". The practice, by which a group of parents organize to give out Halloween candy from the trunks of their vehicles in close proximity is sometimes regarded as a safer alternative to trick-or-treating, while other parents see it as an easier alternative to walking the neighborhood with their children. God forbid! I cannot stress this enough: this is anathema to everything good about Halloween, America, Europe, Western civilization, and the entire history thereof. This, like so much of our modern culture, is a crushing force that seeks to steamroll everything into a safe, amorphous, corporate-approved blob that lacks any semblance of truth, beauty, history, identity, or tradition. We know that Halloween was historically an old Celtic pagan fire festival to mark the start of winter (forgive the oversimplification, it's just Twitter). In Scotland, Ireland, Britain et. al., from where so many of our good old traditions hail, one could expect masked youngsters impersonating mischievous spirits to throw one's plough or cart into a nasty soggy ditch or lead your horse into a neighbor’s field. There was no appeasing these mischievous ghouls back then! It was chaos! Luckily today, since about 1920 when "guising" was introduced by Irish and Scottish immigrants in Massachusetts, we can bribe the goblins with some sweets and send them on their way. And that's just it; it's a night when children have a sense of agency and control! We adults are at their joyfully mischievous mercy! If you do not pay the sweet tithe to the fairies and ghouls, your home may well fall victim to a nasty trick (toilet paper, anyone?). This is how it should be! Halloween should not be some staid and sanitized safe little polite jaunt about the park from car trunk to car trunk; it should be a night where children run rampant, threatening to egg houses and burn the village down to the very stones if their ravenous hunger is not appeased! That is good and just and right! Please, for the sake of tradition, history, and beauty, send your children trick-or-treating from house to house. Have them knock on doors. Encourage mischief and risk and joy. They only get a brief window when this is possible. They only get one childhood.

I am against violence. I am against celebrating violence. I’m praying for peace. I’m praying for healing. I’m praying for the family, especially the children. I know what they’re going through. I’ve been through it. I’m deeply scared for this country. The way some people are reacting on both sides is dangerous. If I had one wish right now it would be for everyone to please just step back and take a breath and remember we are all just sophisticated apes trying to coexist on a rock hurtling through space. If we cannot tolerate polite and reasoned disagreement then there is no hope for our society. There is a famous quote falsely attributed to Voltaire that however does sum up a principle of enlightenment philosophy, ‘I disagree with what you say, but I would die to defend your right to say it.’ The ideas of people like John Locke and Voltaire and Thomas Paine are what lead to the American Revolution which then inspired the French Revolution. They introduced the World to the idea that individual rights were important and should be protected from Monarchs (tyrants and dictators), and ultimately led to the idea that a country should be governed by its people NOT by the Church and NOT by a King. If citizens don’t protect and respect each other’s right to disagree, then we cannot have a democracy. If we do not protect our right to disagree then we’ll get violence. We do NOT want a society where violence is the way we win arguments, because then nobody wins. Everyone loses. We are ALL losing right now. The whole society is losing together. Losing to violence. It’s unbelievably sad. It took so much work to get us here. We can’t throw it all away like spoilt children. I did NOT agree with Charlie Kirk’s views on MANY important topics. I know he helped get Trump elected and people hate him for that. But he was a conservative Christian. What do you expect a conservative Christian to believe? How can those views surprise you? He argued those views calmly, reasonably, and considerately as far as I’ve seen. But no matter what he did not deserve this. His wife did not deserve this. His kids did NOT deserve to have their world torn apart! The way some people are being so cold and uncaring and even celebrating is disturbing and repugnant to me. It is making me physically ill. If you are celebrating the murder of a non-violent man for his opinions then you are NOT the better person. Look in the mirror. Imagine telling his kids how you feel. Step back. Take a breath. Remember we are all humans. We are all just flickers of consciousness in an endless eternity. Love IS the answer. I really mean it. We are quite literally ALL in this together. If this ship sinks we ALL drown. Look around you. Everyone you see is a shipmate. We have to figure this out. We have no other choice.

Didn’t boycott Saudi Arabia — after it butchered a journalist with a bone saw in a consulate, executed 81 people in a single day, locked women in secret "rehab prisons", and bombed school buses and funerals in Yemen. Didn’t boycott Turkey — despite ethnic cleansing campaigns against Kurds, mass censorship, and the purge of over 100,000 academics, journalists, and judges. Only the Jews. This isn’t activism. It’s bigotry disguised as virtue.

Gaza is tiny... It is just a few miles across... Just a few miles long... It has a population of about 1.8 million...... And not a single one of them has stood up and helped to find the hostages..... Not one. Not once.
