There is no value to a gorgeous building except the one which can be measured. Things have no inherent value in a capitalistic society, only imaginary, volatile amounts that are allocated to it and that represent its worth (read = price). We will build like this again when we as a society deem that the worth of a beautiful sculpture is enough simply because it is a magnificent work of art. We will build like this when we start valuing artistic expression more than observable numbers.

When I first drove in a Tesla about 3 years ago, I was shocked by the fact that you had to press a button on a screen in order for the glove compartment to open. You mean to tell me I can not just physically open a fucking compartment by simply pulling a handle? Why is everything mechanical being digitalized? Some things are just not meant to be upgraded. At some point the iterations have to stop.
