@Georgeadelphia Certain events, generally tournaments such as World Cup or multi sport events like the Olympics have contracts where venue name is neutral. All sponsors sign their agreements with this knowledge in place and clauses to cover it.

@nobunobunobune The opening of Aeon, and then the subsequent expansion of Aeon has more to do with the decline around Takaoka station. Takaoka also isn't a "destination" like Toyama or Kanazawa, so decline is natural given minimal tourists to spend money in Takaoka.

@colecameron @GearoidReidy Yes. But only if you plan traveling more than just Tokyo to Osaka/Kyoto. Got a 21 day green class pass in 2017 for about ¥70000. Probably got about ¥60-700000 value out of it. That did include some quite long shinkansen rides that would have made more sense to fly if not on pass
