History has repeatedly shown that free market competition is the only way to drive down costs while expanding services to the masses without the horrible side effects of government controls and artificial limits. Look at buying TVs now compared to the 70s and 80s. Lots of examples.

Healthcare is the opposite of a free market. Heavily regulated by the government with huge subsidies given to insurance companies thanks to Obamacare. I was quoted $850 for an insurance approved MRI. I went to a private pay MRI - was faster, cleaner, with great customer service for $300 paid directly. Many states also limit the building of new hospitals without going through a lengthy expensive regulatory process to prove a need for the services. In other words, competition is limited. If the feds stopped regulating insurance companies and healthcare to the extent they do, and states removed the regulatory obstacles to building new hospitals, competition would drive the prices way way down.

How many smart people will go to 4 years undergrad, 4 years med school, residency etc., go into hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, to practice medicine with limits on charges like you want because then we can’t pay the docs enough to attract the best to practice medicine. They won’t be able to afford it.

No one cares what other countries do . . . have you seen their standard of living compared to the US? Europoor. Second, if your approach was implemented, like in England and Canada, there will be shortages of healthcare and healthcare providers and wait times for life saving diagnostic tests and treatments will grow exponentially to the point may people will die waiting. Learn some basic economics.

yeah it’s happening so what’s he and the other do nothing Republicans in Congress and state legislatures going to do to stop it? Letters and speeches are meaningless. Legislation and enforcement to stop immigration from countries that hate us and democracy and the Supreme Court reinterpreting caselaw on the freedom of religion to more narrowly define religion to exclude political ideologies and “religions” that actively want to do away with our constitutional Republic form of government. But will never happen. We are too weak and too many people here from those countries - see NY mayoral election after the most devastating attack on NY on 9/11.
