The Rules committee is NOT scheduled to include NDAA in the Rule next week. Rather than delete my tweet below, I’m leaving it up, because at some point House Leaders will bring the NDAA to the floor, and will likely bring it through the Rules committee. We just don’t know when.

The ruling classes excel at creating public anger with policies that hurt America, and then guiding the public anger into their so-called 'solutions.' Anger at George W. Bush was guided into Obama's "Hope & Change." Anger at Biden was guided into Trump's "America First." Meanwhile, there was no "Hope & Change" and there is no "America First"! A Kansas police chief tracked his ex-girlfriend’s car 164 times. A Milwaukee officer ran 179 personal searches before resigning. A Florida deputy used the system to track down a woman he met once and pull her over. No warrants. No judges. Just a login and a grudge. Flock says abuse is rare. But almost none of these cases were caught by the departments themselves. Victims had to figure out they were being followed and file their own reports. The “accountability features” only work when someone outside the system goes looking. Texas runs the largest Flock network in the country’s largest Flock state. Over 120 Texas agencies share plate data statewide through DPS. When Austin voted to kick Flock out, DPS just installed cameras on state highways anyway. And Johnson County deputies used the system to hunt down a woman over an abortion while calling it a missing person search. Every camera is a promise that someone with a badge and a bad motive can follow you anywhere. You can’t abuse a database that doesn’t exist. Tear them down.

No nation "shares" its military secrets by force of law. Buried in Section 622 of the Senate intelligence bill is a mandate that the President must hand US intelligence to Israel, signals intercepts, satellite imagery, early warning data, and cannot stop, even if he wants to, without filing a justification report to Congress within 15 days. Read that again. Congress wants to make it ILLEGAL for your government to protect its own military secrets. This is the same Israel the Defense Intelligence Agency rates as a CRITICAL counterintelligence threat, the highest level there is. The same Israel that ran Jonathan Pollard, who stole so many classified military documents the Secretary of Defense said it was hard to conceive of greater damage to national security. The same Israel that refused to hand over Iron Dome source code, killing a billion-dollar Army program. Secrets flow one direction only. The sponsor is Sen. Tom Cotton. His committee passed it 14-3 behind closed doors. Meanwhile in the House, Reps. Mike Rogers and Adam Smith slipped a companion provision into the NDAA wiring our targeting networks, battlefield AI, and weapons programs directly into Israel's. When Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna tried to force a floor vote to strip it, the Rules Committee blocked the vote entirely. Texas' own Ronny Jackson sponsored the original bill. Allegiance means defending American sovereignty. It does not mean handing a foreign government a legal key to our intelligence apparatus and forbidding future presidents from taking it back. Try Tom Cotton and every member who backed this for treason. Let them explain to a jury why surrendering American military intelligence to a critical counterintelligence threat serves the country they swore an oath to. No entangling alliances. Not with anyone.

Independence Day should sit uneasy with anyone who holds power. The Declaration didn't just announce a breakup with Britain. It planted a flag on an idea that still rattles the people in charge: your rights don't come from government. Power comes from the consent of the governed, and when a government turns against the very rights it exists to protect, the people get to change it or scrap it. That rule plays no favorites. It doesn't care whether the folks running things agree with you. It asks one thing: does power still answer to us? Will your rights outlast the next election? Can Texans live free of a government that forgets who it works for? Two hundred fifty years later, that's still the test that counts.
