News from Australia today. Sickening. I'm glad Sportsbet got fined but what is money when people's lives are at stake. These companies do not care about anybody. All they care about is raking in as much money as possible.

@aftergambling @owenbaily1982 Thanks for sharing gents. Shame is a big one for me. I'm in a much better place with it now after tackling it at my therapy sessions. I've learnt to love the new me which has helped me to tackle the shame and stigma associated with my gambling addiction.

@DeanMKearney @aftergambling Completely understand that mate. Gambling becomes so integrated into your daily routine it's just like waking up every day and brushing your teeth. Trying to stop something that you have been so used to doing for many years is never easy. But it does get easier 👍

@NoMoreBets365 I remember always contacting my VIP manager for bonus bets, usually when I had lost all my money and had nothing else to gamble with. Allowing me to continue cycle until I got paid again. Like you say, they don't give a toffee about you as an individual. They just want your money
@NoMoreBets365 Great post. It's a topic which isn't talked about as much as it should be. Here if you are playing on the Poker Machines lots they incentivise you to stay as long as possible by giving you free booze, food. As well as a private car park space with a red carpet entrance. Sickening

@ARecoverer One of the greatest parts of recovery has been realising that one of my best strengths is my honesty and transparency. When I gambled I never utilised this, infact I did the complete opposite by lying and being secretive. Be open and honest in your recovery, it will help 😊
