Working on a project to photograph a black-crowned night heron flying in front of the Palace of Fine Arts. Haven’t gotten the shot I wanted, but in the meantime here’s a juvenile BNCH standing guard outside the palace.

Over the holidays, a few pelicans decided to fish in the San Francisco Marina, right next to a busy sidewalk.I was focusing on the pelicans so I didn’t perfectly capture the expression of the guy walking by, but the gist comes through.

Brown Pelican flying down San Francisco Bay. I’m working on a project to get a pelican silhouetted in front of the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. Probably been done before, but it’s a fun challenge to get just the right weather, line up the bird, and focus in lower light.
