JAECOO South Africa will expand its J5 range in August 2026 with the introduction of the new J5 SHS hybrid and J5 BEV electric SUV. J5 SHS Hybrid • 1.5-litre turbocharged hybrid powertrain • 165 kW and 295 N.m • Claimed fuel consumption of 5.3 L/100 km • Claimed driving range of over 900 km • 1.83 kWh battery for low-speed EV driving J5 BEV • 58.9 kWh LFP battery • 155 kW and 288 N.m • DC fast charging from 30% to 80% in 28 minutes • Maximum charging speed of 130 kW Both models will feature a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, dual-zone climate control and a full suite of driver-assistance systems as standard. Local pricing and full specifications will be announced closer to launch.
