This is definitely worth paying attention to, but I think it’s important to keep it in context. If quantum computing becomes capable of breaking elliptic curve cryptography, the challenge won’t be limited to Bitcoin or Ethereum. The same cryptography underpins online banking, government systems, secure websites, military communications, and much of the modern internet. The question isn’t whether the world should prepare for quantum threats—it should. The question is whether open-source networks like Bitcoin can adapt before that threat becomes practical. Bitcoin has upgraded before, and if needed, it can upgrade again. Interesting development. Worth watching closely. But I don’t think “France just declared Bitcoin obsolete” is the right takeaway.

I’ve learned a lot from this debate. I think everyone should read hodlonaut’s work and make up their own mind. Dismissing hundreds of hours of research without reading it isn’t helpful. At the same time, Bitcoin has taught me something important: No developer, company, influencer, podcaster, or investigator gets the final say. The users do. If people agree with Core, they’ll run Core. If people agree with Knots, they’ll run Knots. If enough people disagree with a direction, they’ll route around it. That’s the beauty of Bitcoin. We don’t need everyone to agree. We need everyone to be free to choose.

That’s where Bitcoin takes my mind now. Not just “what’s the price?” More like: How do we build homes that make families healthier, freer, and harder to control?

Most people say: “If you’ve got nothing to hide, you’ve got nothing to fear.” Yet they lock their front door. Close their curtains. Protect their bank account. And use passwords on their phone. Imagine an airtight home built fast + cheap, powered by solar… miners run on excess energy… that heat warms the house… and you’re securing the network while reducing waste.

Bitcoin used to be “what’s the price?” for me. Now it’s “how do I build a system?” More income → more sats. Then node. Then small miner. Then energy learning. This is where Bitcoin gets really interesting: it pulls you into real-world innovation. 🟧⚡️
