The brain doesn't forget because neurons die. They just go dark. And one protein controls the switch. Insane find: Researchers at UCSF screened every protein that changes in the aging hippocampus. One stood out: FTL1, a ferritin subunit your doctor already measures in routine bloodwork. When they removed it from old mice, the animals didn't just stop declining. Synapses regrew. Memory recovered.The mechanism is almost elegant in how brutal it is: excess ferritin traps iron in a form mitochondria can't use → ATP drops → synapses starve and go silent. The neuron doesn't die. It just disconnects. Most aging research sells you "delay." This paper, published in Nature Aging, demonstrated bidirectional reversal - increase FTL1 in young mice, they age. Remove it from old mice, they recover. Human trials are still away. But the protein accumulates in the same region of human Alzheimer's brains, and serum ferritin already correlates with cognitive decline across multiple large studies. The mouse finding isn't happening in a vacuum.

Wenn ich mir die Kommentare unter dem Video anschaue, in dem ich euch den Sony AI Tischtennis-Roboter 🏓 gezeigt habe, lese ich vor allem eins:  „Warum brauchen wir das?“  „Das ersetzt doch keinen Menschen“  „Wo bleibt die Menschlichkeit?“  „Wo der Spaß?“  Ich verstehe diese Reaktion total. Aber genau hier liegt der Punkt: Es geht nicht darum, dass Roboter besser Tischtennis spielen als wir. Das interessiert am Ende niemanden. Es geht darum, was technologisch dahinter steckt. Die Fähigkeit, in Millisekunden zu reagieren. Zu antizipieren. Komplexe Bewegungen präzise umzusetzen. Das ist die Grundlage für ganz andere Anwendungen, in Industrie, Medizin, Pflege. Und ja: Die Veränderung der Welt wird niemals wieder so langsam sein wie heute. Ich habe großen Respekt davor. Wir stehen an einem echten Wendepunkt: Humanoide Roboter verlassen die Labore. KI schreibt Code, entwickelt Produkte und trifft Entscheidungen. Was vor wenigen Jahren noch nach Science-Fiction klang, ist jetzt Realität. Das ist faszinierend und brutal zugleich. Faszinierend, weil wir Probleme lösen können, die bisher unlösbar waren. Brutal, weil ganze Jobprofile verschwinden und unsere Systeme für dieses Tempo nicht gebaut sind.  Aber eins ist mir wichtig: Es geht nicht um „Maschine vs. Mensch“. Menschen bleiben unersetzlich, wegen Emotion, Kreativität, Intuition. Genau das, was keinen Algorithmus wirklich antreibt. Die Technologie ist ein Werkzeug. Kein Gegner. Wir haben zwei Optionen: Wir schauen zu, haben Angst und werden überrollt. Oder wir verstehen, was passiert, bauen Kompetenzen auf und gestalten aktiv mit. Ich entscheide mich für Option zwei. Mit Respekt vor der Geschwindigkeit, aber ohne Angststarre. Humanoide Robotik ist nicht mehr Zukunft. Sie ist da. Die einzige Frage ist: Welche Rolle willst du in dieser neuen Realität spielen?
