I get why Man Utd are trying to say they acted like Real Madrid, Arsenal and PSG by refusing to pay over £70m for Mateus but.. Arsenal have Rice, Zubimendi, MLS, Merino. Madrid have Tchouameni, Valverde, Bellingham. PSG have Vitinha, Neves, Ruiz.... We only have Mainoo (who's class).. My point being is that we are in a position where we may need to overpay cos we need midfielders 10x more.
So let me get this straight… Because United struck gold with Cunha and Mbeumo ( both support the club ) they think players should bend over backwards to make United their priority, when this is a club that hasn’t consistently competed for years, has seen project after project torn up & restarted, and no longer offers the wages it once did. Sounds reasonable.
