It's insane that Stitt hasn't/won't declare a state of emergency for Tulsa County and surrounding. My heart grieves for the people in my hometown. With the heat and no power and limited to no gasoline to closed grocery stores, people are going to die.
We asked if Stitt planned to declare a state of emergency. Didn’t get a direct answer. A spokesperson said they enacted emergency waivers and that Oklahoma Emer mgmt and Homeland Security are working w/local jurisdictions to survey damage.

I need y'all to understand the significance of Gov Stitt refusing to (or, at the very least, dragging his feet on) declaring a state of emergency. Power outages aren't just an inconvenience for the most vulnerable among us. For disabled people, losing power can be life or death.

Tulsa drivers: reminder from hierarchical, rules-following James. When traffic signals are out, the intersection is, by law, a four-way-stop. Not a free-for-all, whoever has the biggest truck or SUV goes first. Y'all going completely Lord of the Flies feral out there. #okwx
