America's 250th birthday celebration is already lighting up the sky. A stunning air show featuring 2,500 drones transformed the night over North Richland Hills, Texas, with massive images of a rocket, a bald eagle, and George Washington. The patriotic display, created by Sky Elements Drone Shows, gave local families an early look at the celebrations leading up to the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
NEW: New York mom charged after allegedly sending $30,000 in cryptocurrency to an Islamic terrorist organization. Catherine Beth Washburn, 37, a stay-at-home mom, allegedly sent a Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist $30,000 in crypto. The bust is part of a larger trend involving issues surrounding cryptocurrency in the United States. On Monday, the U.S. sanctioned Brazilian companies and individuals accused of laundering money for the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). One man, Victor Henrique de Oliveira Shimada, is accused of using crypto to launder over $30 M in illicit funds generated in US cities, which were then transferred back to Brazil. The Treasury Department says the PCC is a threat to U.S. national security, "since its operations throughout the country, particularly in Florida, launder drug money and contribute to a cycle of crime." The U.S. also recently busted a Honduras-based Chinese national for smuggling loads of cocaine into the U.S. and using crypto to launder money. Insane. Video: wgrztv
