The only problem is this didn't even Surf Dracula In the Surf Dracula metaphor, a show titled Surf Dracula would spend 10 episodes getting you to the final ten minutes where Dracula would finally surf In Lanterns one would expect that would mean John Stewart would put on the Green Lantern outfit Tom Welling spent more time in the Superman costume after ten seasons of Smallville when all you see is him open his shirt and see the shield in the final shot than you see of John Stewart in costume which never happens Yes he flew away. This is more like Surf Dracula if in the last ten minutes you have to imagine the surfboard as he walks into the ocean

I still really liked the lanterns finale but we have reached levels of surf Dracula that we previously thought were impossible

@DiscussingFilm I’m not even against the name, I’m just fascinated by the idea that two of the most recognisable studio names in Hollywood can suddenly become subfolders.

The combined Warner Bros/Paramount company will be called Skydance. Warner Bros and Paramount will serve as brands under the larger company.

Season 2 should premiere within the next year or year and half max....need to maintain the momentum.

“Netflix is headed for its worst year since 2022.” I don’t know maybe stop policing the passwords and canceling shows after one season. That might help a little.

The *entire point* of this scene is that Bryan’s paternal instincts overwhelm his survival instincts. It sets up the tragic irony that underpins the whole movie: the traits which would have made him a good father are the reason he’ll never become one.

One thing I’m yet to understand about the Resident Evil 2026 movie is Bryan’s stupidity in this scene. He knew she was infected, he could clearly see it, and he still went ahead to try to carry her. Like, even if Zack Cregger wants to portray Bryan as dumb, there’s an extent to

Is it just me that thinks Cregger’s Resident Evil might be one of the first game adaptations to actually capture what playing a game feels like? 😭 You find a shotgun, then immediately have to worry about ammo. The tight camera keeps you trapped in Bryan’s POV, and the movie actually shows the process instead of skipping from one big moment to another. Cregger didn’t just adapt an RE story. He adapted the experience of playing Resident Evil and turned that into a movie.

Streaming basically ended the piracy boom by making the content people wanted easier to buy than steal. But massive subscription price hikes only pushed people back into the piracy streaming was built to stop, often claiming piracy losses are why they need more of your money.

Yeah. I mean, other than following the classical Resident Evil formula of starting as relatively grounded horror and gradually escalating into grotesque sci-fi insanity; featuring a bioweapon outbreak as the catalyst; taking place in Raccoon City; culminating in a secret laboratory; featuring zombies, infected dogs, and increasingly bizarre mutant creatures; having its protagonist start with a basic handgun and progressively acquire bigger and more ridiculous weapons; forcing him to scavenge for ammunition and conserve what little he has; making him rummage through drawers for supplies; confronting him with inexplicably elaborate locks; including typewriters, First-Aid Spray, Green Herbs, and other direct references to game items; occasionally switching into first-person and over-the-shoulder perspectives that mimic the games; sending him through rural environments, city streets, underground areas, a hospital, and finally a laboratory; having Umbrella scientists fucking around with biological weapons; and ultimately transforming its protagonist into a giant Bio-weapon that looks exactly like something you’d fight at the end of a Resident Evil game . . . Yeah, other than all that, it barely had anything to do with the fucking games.

Brad Bird says he’s happy with the final CG animation of ‘RAY GUNN’, but also thinks Hollywood has turned against 2D animation. “Studios think audiences won’t accept that... I don’t agree that hand-drawn animation isn’t commercial.” Find out more... discussingfilm.net/2026/09/23/bra…
