@changtommy2 I'm not aware of any. However my ignorance doesn't preclude differences from existing. That being said, my understanding is that IBM has pause ~> withdrawn the program as it was and is refactoring things to use an IBM hosted option instead.

IBM has an answer for students and hobbyists wanting access to mainframes. Q: How much ZD&T for Learners Edition would cost? A: Once qualified, Learner Edition is expected to cost you $120.00 USD per year. ibm.com/products/z-dev…

Which system is the client (initiating the TLS connection) vs the server (responding to the TLS connection) as well as client vs server TLS certificates. One (client exclusive or server) or two (client and server) instances of AT-TLS. Lots of things to ponder.

I think the "Can you override an AT-TLS policy?" discussion on the IBMTCL-L mailing list has been a learning opportunity for me. If you haven't read it, go check it out. Applications can be aware or ignorant of AT-TLS.

@zarchasmpgmr I'm similarly interested in what I can do with my P/390-E and things like Microsoft SNA / Novell SAA server. I would really like to get SNA terminal connections working over Ethernet ~> DLC.

@zarchasmpgmr At the moment, my motivation is to learn more about and understand SNA, particularly in relation to getting SNA working under Hercules, including the community effort to get a more functional 3705 emulator. Such as MVS 3.8j supports.

@zarchasmpgmr I've got my eyes on the Rexx book(s). But again, multiple books are already in the queue. I'm also eyeing MVS TSO Part 1 Concepts and ISPF, and Part 2 Commands and Procedures by Doug Low.

@zarchasmpgmr I ordered a copy of MVS Concepts and Facilities in the hopes that it's as enlightening as Introduction to SAN Networking. I'm eyeing a few other books in the J. Ranade IBM Series. But I've purchased double digits of books this year and need to read some before buying more.
