Frivolous suits that assume compliance of certan Justices do nothing but a disservice to the court and institution of #SCOTUS. Justices #Gorsuch and #Kavanaugh are immensly accomplished lawyers. Bizarre assumptions of political loyalties are misplaced and damaging.

Chief Justice Roberts joined with the three liberal justices to reject Pennsylvania Republicans’ call for the court to block the state court ruling. Justices Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Thomas would have required the state to stop accepting ballots when the polls close Nov. 3.

@ToddtheAttorney @FixTheCourt Any limit leaves scope for political maneuvering. A lifetime appointment, by it's nature, necessitates a degree of flexibility and evolution on the part of each new Justice. Many of the current and recent former Justices have talked about how the Court has changed them with time.

@BryanGividen JUSTICE EVERYMAN joins with all but part (b). Lifetime appointments permit Justices on the Court to rule and interpret the Constitution according to their own judicial philosphy, and minimize, if not irradicate, the danger of political influence.

@KevinBaum013 @irishhillsjoe @willwilkinson @RandyEBarnett I would encourage you to read my latest statement from the court :) Originalism is a perfectly legitimate method to interpreting the law. It is my opinion that this is the reason that the fourteenth amendment applies in Obergefell.
