@evan7257 @CenterPoint It's obviously fiber. The easy way to tell is that when you see that almost circular thingy the cable is wrapped around, that's fiber. It poses no danger so the utility is under no obligation to deal with it quickly

@Devlinside123 @DocBlase @TheRickWilson I'm 60 and the only memory I have of a Kennedy in political office is Sen Ted Kennedy. One would have to be closer to 70 to remember a different Kennedy in office and closer to 80 to have actually voted for one in a winning election.

@janesnage @RyanShead @RepMTG In our system, trials do not prove innocence. The two possible verdicts are ‘guilty’ and ‘not guilty’. ‘Innocent’ is not an option. A not guilty verdict simply means the government failed to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

@AndrewDessler The Socratica series of videos on YouTube are excellent and entertaining. I taught a class last summer to some high school graduates headed to college. They had never had any programming instruction. I used the syllabus of the intro class I knew they would take in the fall.

@AmesCG I was recently in a presentation from the guy that manages the rivers and lakes for 70% of Texas and none of his forecast models considered climate change in any way. It's not just that we are ignoring the 2nd and 3rd order effects, we're also ignoring the 1st order effects.

@0liviajulianna Charter schools in Texas are required to accept all students in the grades they serve in their geographic area if they have space. There is no such thing as good enough. Private schools are a completely different story.
