The Champion in Fitzrovia is a fine Grade II listed pub with Victorian-style fittings. But its most notable feature is the splendid stained glass windows of the ground floor bar, featuring British historical characters. The windows look old but were installed in 1989.
It's hard to imagine now, but prior to the urbanisation of Marylebone, it was once a rual area with farms and open fields. Willans Farm was located in what is now Regent’s Park, and Kendals Farm stood along what is now Euston Road. #Marylebone #HistoricLondon

14-15 Manette Street, London. Built 1771 as a workhouse to serve the parish poor, it has been since been used as a school, mission house & synagogue. Always enjoy researching buildings which have been used for multiple purposes. Anyone else have any similar examples?

4 Hobart Place, Westminster. Composer Felix Mendelssohn frequently stayed here with the Klingemann family during his visits to London. He was so popular that they used to pretend to be out until late in the evening, when they would open and play the piano.
Christ Church, Spitalfields, built between 1714-1729 to the designs of Nicholas Hawksmoor. The church initially served the Huguenot community, who used it for baptisms, marriages and burials, although not for everyday worship. #historiclondon #spitalfields #eastlondon

This building was left standing all alone on Tottenham Court Road when a V2 rocket landed here on the 25th March 1945 and destroyed, beyond repair, all the buildings that once stood around it.
Not many people know that there was once a Russian Orthodox Chapel located in Clarence House. It was installed on the first floor by Prince Alfred, following his marriage to Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia. #ClarenceHouse #RoyalResidence #HistoricLondon
@livinglondonhis One of the lovely small gardens to be found around central London. I’m always surprised at how unexpectedly peaceful they are.
The station frontage can still be seen on the Strand. Used many times as filming location, most recently in the new Luther movie.
The disused platform at Aldwych Station. The station shut in the mid-1990s due to low passenger numbers, but was also shut completely in World War Two and used as a civilian air raid shelter for 1500 Londoners.
