Technically yes but if you tweak it so its about compute per volume were still close enough. Plus the models get more efficient. The most likely scenario in my opinion is all these data centers allow for super efficient AI that we distill to run on phones and then they all go bust or get appropriated by the government because at that point a data center past a certain size is basically a nuclear weapon.

@welock @JosephELawson @Boon_doggl The scale is bigger, the tech isn't. It's still just a bunch of GPUs running neural networks. Google has been running a good chunk of its services on TPUs since 2018 and that's the same tech running it's AI models. Most of Facebook is neural network based recommender algorithms.

About a 5th of people work remotely and thats definitely not possible without massive amounts of GPUs for the video compression tools like Zoom use.

My point is it doesn't matter. Merely demonstrating opposition to Israel in any way, shape, or form is a dog whistle to a significant group of voters, of which Arabs are a big one, alongside neo-Nazis and white supremacists. It just so happens in Michigan that voting block helps Democrats.

As much as the schools need more money, there’s no way I could vote for a tax increase without the school system serving up some heads on a platter. The schools are objectively criminally mismanaged and more money won’t fix that.
