Everyone who wants to be a true Israelite, like Nathanael, in whom Jesus found nothing fake, can now be one, thanks to what Jesus made possible via the New Covenant - a new way of living (a whole new lifestyle).
Romans 2v28-29 NKJV
[28] For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; [29] but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.

Forgiveness of sins = being reconciled with God (thanks to Jesus).
After that comes being saved by His life (by living the same life He did, all the way from His childhood until when He was physically crucified).
To live that type of holy, selfless (and sinless) life is what'll get us saved from the sin that's in our sinful nature.
In our efforts to live wholeheartedly for Jesus we'll soon enough see our demands and expectations and sinful/selfish tendencies, and that's exactly when we can do something about it, i.e. be one with God in our hatred over what we see, so that the hidden sin that's still remaining in me can be condemned (sentenced to death, spiritually speaking) and replaced by Jesus's virtues.
Romans 5v10-11 NKJV
[10] For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. [11] And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
Fully agree. By just believing and obeying (using/practicing) one word of God when we're tempted, Satan flees from us.
He knows God's word much better then we do, but doesn't obey it (submit himself to it).
We can submit (completely surrender) ourselves to God's word when we're tempted today and, by so doing, get complete victory over the devil - moment by moment, one day at a time.
Wrong. He came to pave (open up) a new and living (life-giving) way for everyone to be able to fulfil the law - at least, that is, everyone who wants/longs to be able to.
The time for putting Jesus in a little box and reducing Him to our own personal excuse for continuing to sin is over.
A new time has dawned: the time for the revealing of the sons and daughters of God, that live the same life He lived and portray/manifest the same virtues Jesus attained to during His time on earth.
This is serious, on a very personal level. Makes me think of Saul who had to have scales removed from his eyes.
I also have scales, like layers of an onion, that need to be removed layer by layer, so I can see who Jesus is more and more, and who I am in truth.
Me, acknowledging the truth about who Jesus really is, and about who and how I am by nature (not denying the truth), will set me free, one acknowledgement at a time, moment by moment, day by day.
I do understand what you are saying, and I actually think there is something precious in it. Shame must not be allowed to drive us away from God. When we fall, are tempted, or feel bound, the answer is not to hide from God, as Adam did, but to turn to Him immediately. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” That is life-giving, and I agree with that completely.
At the same time, I do not think Scripture allows us to say that sin no longer causes separation. Isaiah 59:2 says very directly: “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you.” Sin is not merely a byproduct of separation; sin itself separates. It breaks fellowship, hardens the heart, defiles the conscience, and gives the enemy a foothold.
So I would maybe word it this way: separation can lead to sin, but sin also causes deeper separation. The answer in the new covenant is not that sin no longer separates, but that through Jesus we do not have to remain separated. We can come immediately into the light, confess, humble ourselves, receive grace, and be cleansed.
John writes, “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin.” That is the goal. Then he adds, “And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” So the new covenant does not make sin harmless. It gives us a living way back to God when we have sinned, and power to overcome so that we do not continue in sin.
This is also why I believe we must take the battle against sin extremely seriously. “Sin is lawlessness.” It is transgression against God’s will, whether that law is written outwardly or inwardly in the heart by the Spirit. James also shows the process: desire draws a person away, desire gives birth to sin, and sin brings forth death. So the danger is real.
Jesus is our example here. He was tempted in all points as we are, yet without sin. He did not merely remain close to the Father in a vague way; He obeyed the Father and suffered in the flesh rather than give in to sin. That is why Peter writes, “since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind.” The mind of Christ is not passive closeness to God while making peace with sin; it is a living hatred of sin and a willingness to suffer rather than obey the flesh.
That is also what I appreciated in this article:
app.hiddentreasures.org/en/hidden-trea…
It speaks about how Jesus partook of flesh and blood, how God condemned sin in the flesh through Him, and how we must become familiar with “the sufferings of Christ in order not to sin.” That is the battle: to stay near to God, yes, but also to resist sin, judge it, hate it, and be finished with it.
So I think we may actually agree on this: we must not allow shame to keep us away from God. But I would add: we must also not allow the comfort of “closeness” to weaken the seriousness of sin. The safest place is in God’s presence, walking in the light, where sin is exposed, judged, cleansed, and overcome.
On the odd occasion when we might fall, as we're learning to walk (and later run on the way of victory that Jesus opened up for us) in a certain area we're battling in, yes, we can definitely ask for forgiveness - and we should.
However, the point isn't to continue sinning - Jesus even said it quite clearly: "Go and sin no more".
A child that is learning to walk, naturally falls in the early stages, but the natural progression is to eventually be able to run, and even then hop, skip and jump.
If, after many years, the child grows up and still falling like a little child, then there's something seriously wrong (perhaps with the gospel they've been indoctrinated with).
It was never Jesus's intention that we should continue falling in sin, and have to ask forgiveness for the very same things, time and time again...
On the contrary, He's asked us not to sin anymore. That would only be possible if it were possible.
💡And it is, thanks to Jesus Himself.🙂
This is where everything went wrong with Adam and Eve in the beginning of time:
Satan, the first being to do his own will (in opposition to God's will), deceived Eve to doubt God's will. He cunningly made her believe that there was some sort of advantage in doing so.
Eve then (in her deceived state) chose to do her own will, and then spread that doubt and deception to Adam, whereupon he decided to doubt and disobey God's will for his life.
For us to rectify the situation in our own lives, we need our own will to be completely and utterly eradicated.
Here's an article that gives some good context on the matter:

Different sides to the same coin... I fully agree with your view. We are tempted when we are drawn away and enticed by our own desires and enticed.
If proximity with God is what I value/cherish/hold dear, then I'm going to fight for my life to preserve it when I get tempted to be drawn away from it - so I don't quench God's spirit by giving in to temptation and He draws away from me. 💪
We love God when we keep His commandments. One of His commandments is to resist the devil steadfast in the faith (when we're being tempted), i.e. the whole time, without exception. That's what makes the devil flee from us.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 1 Peter 5v8-9 NKJV
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4v7 NKJV

Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.

It's not difficult to be occupied with and to keep on going back to save/it using something that really excites/intrigues me and that I've seen really works and/or solves really difficult situations.
When I fall in love with something/someone, it's tickets... No one will be able to stop me from incessantly thinking about that thing/person.
That is how I want it to be regarding God's word and that is how it will become!
Why? Because I've seen that it helps me - even if my feelings are completely against wanting to read (and drink from the spirit that's in) the Word.
I will not live according to my feelings. I will live according to God word - and all the laws He has written in my heart, that are for me personally in my particular situations!
