@sarajcox SEN teacher, pupil is in a wheelchair and uses an iPad on a stand as talk device and accesses it with their feet. Moved the pupil to the board, went to get their device, came back and put a chair in front of them! It wasn’t until the pupils started laughing that it twigged!

@neileley Not school but I planned a trip from Stevenage to RAF Hendon for 40 Cub Scouts, (was planning trip on train but strike stopped that!) so asked 8 different coach companies and got various quotes,-£465, £570, £720, £858, £960 and £1100! How they vary so much I don’t know!

I am a teacher in a State Special Needs School and have been for the last 5 years. I am on #TeacherStrike today, but it has been hard not going into work today as I absolutely love being with the pupils and teaching them. A thread as to why teachers are striking:

10-Teachers are the starting point for everyone in their lives, if it wasn't for them, you wouldn't be where you are today. Support and fund schools properly, reduce teachers workload and we can only imagine what the impact would be!

9-There are teachers teaching subjects that are not their specialist area, or even subjects being dropped due to school being unable to recruit the specialism needed. Not all pupils thrive in 'academic' subjects, and need the non-core subjects to reach their full potential.
