@juliathelast @marcooth I was at Zash a month ago: stylish & contemporary boutique hotel centred on family villa; showy food but Sicilian ingredients; charming owner & architect daughter who designed it; forward-looking place for Sicily and not too far from the Catania coast.

So sad to hear that @melissashales has died. She was a wonderful, fun and warm person, a superb travel writer and backbone of @TravWriters. She used the two years since she was diagnosed with a brain tumour to do her PhD. We all cherish our memories of Mel.

@juliathelast Conversely, the French health authorities advise against FFP2 masks because of "toxic graphene content" (carbon flakes) & risk of long-term lung damage tho' say dangers "impossible to evaluate." I switched but am no wiser as to the risks.

@juliathelast EasyJet crew member based in Switz claims crew not required to declare vaccination status so, after an unvaxxed crew member tested positive, she, rest of crew & pax had to be traced. Madness if so.

@juliathelast Similar saga with ITA booking Sicily-Milan & Milan-London: Etna erupting had nothing on my erupting over accessing the makeshift ITA website. My fellow-passengers were just relieved the flights actually existed. PS: crew & service still fine, however.
