This used to be Little Lyntus an ancient woodland in Staffordshire. It had stood for 400 years, part of our beautiful and vital nature. So it was chopped down for HS2 …. Which was then cancelled! Do you know what is in your kebab? Many people in the UK thought they did but one of the largest suppliers, Kismet Kebabs, has just been prosecuted for lying extensively. Their “lamb” kebabs were labelled as having 50-70% of lamb but DNA testing has shown they have very little lamb. The contents were often mostly skin, fat, goat, beef trim/offcuts, chicken, mutton, and mechanically reclaimed meat. The company made at least £6m from the fraud and it was just fined £500,000 (plus court costs). So much for the “UK’s No. 1 Halal Doner Kebab Manufacturer”.

I have a terribly sore neck. If I ever get too much pain, I rely on Deep Heat spray. I wouldn’t hesitate to spray it even if, say I was on the tube. Hopefully no pervy men would be close to me if I did… ….because I hear it can really sting the eyes.

Former Humberside Police media boss David Drury and his partner have been jailed for child sex offences. Drury admitted two counts of sexual assault on a male, sexual assault of a child under 13, and six counts of distributing indecent images of a child. Drury was the Humberside Police press officer who, in 2021, was involved when the force attempted to dissuade reporting on an alleged grooming gang in Hull and later publicly briefed against those reports. The investigation ultimately led to the force reopening its own inquiry months later. @annelongfield

Please take the time to watch this. This is why I’m pushing for Hull to be included in the National Grooming Gang Inquiry. Hull’s three Labour MPs voted against a national grooming gang inquiry. Hull has been a Labour stronghold for decades, yet many people feel our city has been forgotten. We saw that frustration reflected in the local elections, where many voters turned away from Labour and voted for Reform. People in Hull are asking for action on crime, law and order, community safety, housing, jobs, and the cost of living. Instead, many feel their concerns are ignored while our communities continue to struggle.
