Denzel Dumfries on other side makes complete sense even if Real Madrid paid more than they did. Dumfries profile is relatively rare, and he gives the team a much needed profile to compete as a bench-player and impact sub whenever required. That argument can’t be made for Cucu.

For the price that Real Madrid paid, Marc Cucurella is a pretty bad signing. • 27 Years Old • Not athletic enough • Bad during build-up • Limited attacking game He’s intense, adaptable & tactical but premium price for him was BAD. Carreras is better footballer than him.

They never look like “winners” or rather the winner never looks like one. You can’t discount the previous two finalist based on what is looking wrong now. Margins are small and they have 1) Quality 2) Players to adapt different styles if required to get it going So yeah. That’s my take on them

Beauty of the sport is “what ifs” Norway win XYZ if they use XYZ without realising that. 1) They didn’t deem themselves good enough to go head to head on the battle and gave up before it began 2) A team using their best XI could also be seen as training drill, momentum keeping and by no means they’re giving 100% out there. A possibility discounted? So drawing conclusions because YOU WANT to is ridiculous way of looking at the sport. One team had the guts to build momentum and treat it (as seen) lightly, and this is the EXACT same team that has participated in last two WC Finals so making such statements about France is comical.

It’s a collective effort, it’s not one player nor two, or in cases it’s not even the manager. Because margins are so small and the quality btwn one side to other is smaller during those, it makes it even harder. You also account timing, when/what/how. Nobody is saying EVERYTHING is measured by data, but even there momentum’s are accounted in because scouting report has to be given when that was had/been given/taken back. Film room then exists to analyse those and not repeat it. Or at least try not to. RM squad that won so much also lost so much prior and did all of this work to get there. They didn’t win immediately when assembled, they slowly put pieces together to create that while THESE LOSSES became victories because they had the experience which is an edge by itself to handle the moments. You think RM downfall is random or there is lack of quality? Or that these players are NOT USED to do the work previous core did that by your words “made them winners”.

And to end this. “Winning La Liga is harder than UCL” - Zinedine Zidane Thats because league is 38 gruelling games, grind and you have to be top to bottom winning it. As dominant as Zidane team was (they faced not many issues to win them other than 15-16) still considers it harder because what you learn/dont can be much smaller over smaller samples where a 40 meters goal swings everything against you. Hopefully this clears the air up.

Football and especially KO football can be beyond random and heavily relies on small bursts of momentum shifts. If you’re getting rag dolled like Real Madrid did two years in a row — thats a BAD trajectory and in same fashion, therefore YOUR sporting direction is bad. If you’re PSG and look 3 years before, you absolutely hammered Dortmund but lost— saw the margins and improved. Won back to back. They already were on upwards trajectory and lost on the margins which by eye test, data, whatever should have won but margins are so fucking small that things can go opposite way for 1 game or 2. Making football, especially KO football far more random and luck reliant than having a proper series with no real advantages on court as I gave above.
