Some investors took comfort in the fact that Cathie Wood was buying Skillz and continued adding to her position as it fell. Throughout 2021, her ETFs aggressively accumulated millions of shares during the decline, convinced they were buying a disruptive growth company at bargain prices. But when a stock is under distribution - nothing - not even Cathie Wood buying millions of shares can force it significantly higher until supply stops coming to market. And even then, you need buyers. By the time that finally happens, you could be staring at a 50%, 60%, 70%, or even greater loss.

A loss is a loss once it becomes a loss, not after you sell it. If you are not managing risk in real-time, you are not managing risk. Neither the stock nor your bank account knows—or cares—whether it's a value stock, a momentum stock, or whether Warren Buffett owns it. Risk doesn't care about labels or status. The math is simple: the only way to protect yourself from a large loss is to take a small one. How you make that decision depends on your investment approach, but the math never changes. Once a small loss turns into a large one, there's no guarantee you'll ever get back to breakeven—the time to manage risk has passed, and all that is left is hope.

No, it's not! I can't believe how many people still think changing the label somehow changes the math. Calling it an "investment" instead of a "trade" doesn't make a loss any smaller or improve the odds of recovery. A 50% loss is still a 50% loss. Just because you intend to hold a stock for years doesn't magically improve the risk/reward. Nobody has a crystal ball. Investing, regardless of style is a business of probabilities. And the probabilities aren't so good that you can ignore risk. Even Warren Buffett has endured multiple 50–60% drawdowns. Buying a "quality company" doesn't eliminate risk. If you held through big declines and the stock came back, you were simply fortunate. I'm tired of hearing this nonsense repeated by people who either don't understand risk management or have simply been lucky enough not to learn the lesson yet. Unfortunately, it's new investors who pay the price. They're told they don't need a stop because they're investing for the long term in a great company. That's wishful thinking. Hope has never prevented a large loss, only risk management does. And for every investor that holds the next Amazon, there's dozens who hold losses, underperform and blow up. We heard this nonsense from the Diamond Hands a few years back. One bear market and you never heard from them again.

Landfill is becoming the default graveyard for the fading renewable-energy green dream. Millions of solar panels are already hitting their end-of-life cycle, and the world is completely unprepared for the toxic avalanche due in 2030. By 2050, the International Renewable Energy Agency says it will get much worse, with more than 200 million tonnes of cumulative solar panel waste globally. Plus, there will be additional tens of millions of tonnes of decommissioned wind turbine components. Turbine blades are virtually indestructible. The industry has claimed solar panels and turbines were ‘95% recyclable’. Technically, they are—because they are made of glass, aluminium, and copper. But the reality is a different story. In the US, it costs roughly $20 to $30 to properly disassemble and recycle a single panel, compared to just $1 to $5 to dump it in a landfill. Because there is little financial incentive to disassemble and recycle parts, around 90% of decommissioned panels in the US and a large share of turbine blades worldwide go straight into the ground. These devices are highly complex. A solar panel is an industrial ‘sandwich’ bound tightly by heavy polymers. Extracting the microscopic amounts of valuable silver and high-purity silicon requires energy-intensive chemical and thermal processing. When crushed or left to fracture in landfills, heavy metals like lead and cadmium leach into surrounding soil and groundwater, turning ‘clean energy’ into a multi-generational hazardous waste problem. The crisis is accelerating faster than models ever predicted. As solar cells degrade and newer, cheaper panels hit the market, consumers and solar farms are ripping out functional systems a decade early to repower and upgrade. The dream of renewable energy from sunlight and wind has, in reality, created an endless loop of unrecyclable industrial trash.

Indexes have a three bar triangle on the dailies. This means that if the LOW of the 240 minute chart is taken out it is a failure test, and better downside can unfold.

There is nothing statistically significant about a 5 SMA. But it is a close approximation of a 240 EMA (again, statistically insignificant.) SP 5 SMA on daily still a ways away.

Market Wizard Linda Reschke's 12 Technical Trading Rules: 1. Buy the first pullback after a new high. Sell the first rally after a new low. 2. Afternoon strength or weakness should have follow through the next day. 3. The best trading reversals occur in the morning, not the afternoon. 4. The larger the market gaps, the greater the odds of continuation and a trend. 5. The way the market trades around the previous day’s high or low is a good indicator of the market’s technical strength or weakness. 6. The previous day’s high and low are two very important “pivot” points, for this was the definitive point where buyers or sellers came in the day before. Look for the market to either test and reverse off these points, or push through and show signs of continuation. 7. The last hour often tells the truth about how strong a trend truly is. “Smart” money shows their hand in the last hour, continuing to mark positions in their favor. As long as a market is having consecutive strong closes, look for up-trend to continue. The up trend is most likely to end when there is a morning rally first, followed by a weak close. 8. High volume on the close implies continuity the next morning in the direction of the last half-hour. In a strongly trending market, look for resumption of the trend in the last hour. 9. The first hour’s range establishes the framework for the rest of the trading day. 10. A greater percentage of the day’s range occurs in the first hour then was the case in the past, and thus it has become increasingly important to trade aggressively if there are early signs of a strong trend for the day. 11. There are four basic principles of price behavior which have held up over time. Confidence that a type of price action is a true principle is what allows a trader to develop a systematic approach. The following four principles can be modeled and quantified and hold true for all time frames, all markets. The majority of patterns or systems that have a demonstrable edge are based on one of these four enduring principles of price behavior. Charles Dow was one of the first to touch on them in his writings. Principle One: A Trend Has a Higher Probability of Continuation than Reversal Principle Two: Momentum Precedes Price Principle Three: Trends End in a Climax Principle Four: The Market Alternates between Range Expansion and Range Contraction! 12. In the world of money, which is a world shaped by human behavior, nobody has the foggiest notion of what will happen in the future. Mark that word – Nobody! Thus the successful trader does not base moves on what supposedly will happen but reacts instead to what does happen.

Easiest system: RS on futures - buy dips on top 2-3, short reactions on bottom 2-3. R-G R color rule is vol based - just highlights little swing highs and low and pullback. Any oscillator will show same thing.

Gary Brecka basically said the expensive gear is just a fancy way of packaging what nature already does for free. A really good red light bed can cost as much as a sports car. But sunlight on your skin, some solid breath work, and walking barefoot outside get you most of the way there. He’s a bigger believer in what God gave us than in the machines. The high-end stuff is cool if you can get it. If not, the simple version still works.
