Buium fires up the crowd, then the two exchange some blows. Then DPetey grabs Buium, but Buium scores the takedown. It’s awesome seeing the young guys having fun out there.

Section 2A: #1 Delano vs. #2 Blake tonight at St. Louis Park Rec Center 7 PM Section 3A: #1 Luverne vs. #2 Mankato West tonight at Lund Arena in St. Peter (Gustavus College) 7 PM Section 4A: #1 Mahtomedi vs. #2 Chisago Lakes tonight at Aldrich 7 PM Section 5A Champion: #1 St. Cloud Cathedral #1 Cathedral beat #2 Monticello 3-1 Wednesday for their fourth straight section title. Section 6A: #1 Sartell vs. #2 Northern Lakes tonight at the MAC in St. Cloud 7 PM Section 7A Champion: #1 Hibbing/Chisholm The Bluejackets beat the Cloquet/Esko/Carlton Lumberjacks in OT for the second year in a row for the section 7A title after C/E/C beat Hermantown in the semifinals. The Bluejackets finished fourth at state last season. Section 8A: #1 Warroad vs. #3 Detroit Lakes tonight at The Ralph in Thief River Falls at 7 PM To recap: Sections 1, 5 and 7 are complete. When Edina hit this one, you figured it just might be their night. This #SCTop10-worthy goal erased Wayzata's 1-0 2nd period lead, and was the first goal in junior Bode McConnell's hat trick in Edina's 3-1 win. @edinahornets earn the community's amazing *44th* trip to State.

Section 6AA Final is Set! No. 4 Wayzata upsets No. 1 Rogers 5-2 behind a hat trick from Eli Molde and a 44-save effort from senior net minder Ryan Pellinger. They will play No. 2 Edina, who beat No. 3 Holy Angels in overtime on a goal baby Bode McConnell just 18 seconds in. Four teams ranked in the Top 11 in the final LPH Rankings have been eliminated (#1 Rogers, #9 Cretin-Derham Hall, #10 Maple Grove and #11 Holy Angels). Congratulations to your Class A State Champions: the Breck Mustangs. The Mustangs claim their first title since 2018 and their fifth in program history with a 4-1 win over Warroad. Freshman goaltender Clara Milinkovich was outstanding, stopping 37 shots, and Mackenna Schlieman scored twice to lead the Mustangs, who also got goals from Molly Larson and Ashley Babbitt.
