Die Verschleppung ukrainischer Kinder gilt als eines der schwersten Verbrechen des Krieges! Russland betreibt in den besetzten Gebieten und auch auf eigenem Territorium ununterbrochen eine systematische Politik der Identitätslöschung an verschleppten ukrainischen Kindern. Seit 2014 werden Minderjährige illegal deportiert und zwangsweise in russische Pflegefamilien übergeben. Die Umschulung erfolgt durch eine tiefgreifende ideologische Indoktrination und gezielte Militarisierung. Bereits in den Kindergärten und Schulen werden die verpflichtenden Propaganda-Lektionen „Gespräche über Wichtiges“ durchgeführt. Das Ziel ist die vollständige Russifizierung. Die Kinder werden gezwungen, ihre Muttersprache, Geschichte und Kultur abzulegen. Durch den Aufenthalt in russischen Militärlagern, wie bei der Bewegung „Junarmija“, werden sie systematisch zu Soldaten erzogen. Diese Indoktrination zielt darauf ab, die ukrainischen Kinder psychologisch zu brechen, „in Russen zu verwandeln“ und als künftige Generation in den Krieg zu schicken. Ältere Kinder lernen, sich dieser Indoktrination zu widersetzen, indem sie ein Doppelleben führen und sich in sich selbst zurückziehen. Sie berichten, dass sie ihre Überzeugungen nicht offen äußern dürfen. Dies verstärkt die psychischen Traumata der Kinder. Ein internationaler Rückkehr-Mechanismus fehlt, weshalb Rückholaktionen traumatische Einzelfälle bleiben, während die imperiale Gehirnwäsche unumkehrbare Schäden anrichtet.

In Ethiopia, you can fly over miles of farms and grazing land, then suddenly see a perfect green circle. That patch of trees is a church and a 1,500-year-old conservation system. For centuries, the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church has taught that a church should be surrounded by forest. The building isn't complete without trees around it. In many places, the priests are the forest's last line of defense. And it worked. Across Ethiopia, tens of thousands of these church forests still survive: small islands of native forest wrapped around churches, monasteries, cemeteries, and sacred ground. Much of Ethiopia's historic forest, especially in the northern highlands, has been cleared for farms, grazing, fuelwood, and settlement. In some places, the church forest is the only old native forest left for miles. Step outside the trees and you are in hot, dry, exposed farmland. Step inside and the temperature drops. Birds call. Insects move through the understory. Native plants, pollinators, fungi, and seedlings survive in a place they vanished from everywhere else. Forest ecologist Alemayehu Wassie has spent years studying them. He once described the feeling of entering a church forest from the surrounding farmland as going 'from hell to heaven.' Some of them are tiny, some are huge. Some are damaged and many are under pressure from livestock, farming, paths, and edge effects. But they are still there because people believed a holy place shouldn't stand alone in the dirt. It should be surrounded by life. Imagine if every church, temple, mosque, school, library, and town hall believed the same thing.

Aus der Klinik: Hitze führt zu mehr Todesfällen, aber selten als Folge eines Hitzschlags. Viel häufiger verschlechtern sich Herz-, Nieren- oder Lungenerkrankungen, so dass es lebensbedrohlich wird. Daher gibt es viele Gefährdete, auch ohne den seltenen Extremfall „Hitzschlag“.

Canada built bridges for bears, and the bears used them. So did wolves, cougars, elk, moose, lynx, wolverines, bighorn sheep, black bears, deer, and almost everything else trying to cross one of the busiest highways in the Rockies. The Trans-Canada Highway cuts through Banff National Park for 82 km. For decades, it did what highways do: split habitat in half, severed migration routes, isolated populations, and turned animal movement into roadkill. So Parks Canada tried something that sounded ridiculous to a lot of people at the time: they built wildlife bridges and tunnels. They look nice, but they're far from a decoration. Forested overpasses wide enough for grizzlies and elk. Dark underpasses for cougars and black bears. Fencing along the highway to keep animals off the pavement and guide them toward safe crossings. At the time, critics called it a waste of money and editorials opined that animals would never use them. Fortunately, animals don't read opinion pieces. Since monitoring began, wildlife have used Banff’s crossings more than 250,000 documented times. Grizzlies took years to trust them. Elk started testing them while they were still under construction. Different species chose different designs: grizzlies and elk tended to prefer wide, open overpasses, while cougars and black bears often used narrower underpasses. The results were not subtle. Wildlife-vehicle collisions dropped by more than 80% overall. For elk and deer, they dropped by more than 96%. Banff now has one of the most studied wildlife crossing systems on Earth, and countries around the world have looked to it as a model.
