I enjoy Dyer's content but within a certain context that I ignore his more abrasive attributes. You mak an extremely valuable point that needs to be heard more often. I hope the spirit of your message can get louder than the debate circus from which I have actually received benefit. Hopefully the spite and trolling that comes with social media will soon detach from its Orthodox content.

You're right, Father, per the phenomenon of young enquirers entering church with a head full of online "phronema," let's say. I see it in our own church, this influx of aggressive whipper snappers. However, I think Dyer has done valuable work. And said whipper snappers seem to reorient from their original impulse in a matter of months as they experience the guidance of the church. It seems the traits you dislike about new enquiries could be tracked over youth in general and not confined to the sphere of Orthodoxy. Don't you think social media is stoking some greater cultural behavior, especially in younger people, that is not unique to what the church is witnessing? Is the situation really as "dire" as you articulate, or are we merely challenged by connecting to a younger generation whose rage is understandable, if not justified?
