@lcgeography @nsgeolegend @kate_stockings @MaryMyatt Was my favourite unit and field trip (to Fermanagh) - shame that study centre shut down. We don’t teach glaciation here in Peru either (could do for IB) but earthquakes seems to have won. Shame when we have landscapes like this
@lcgeography @nsgeolegend @kate_stockings @MaryMyatt I think that’s why place-based learning has to be fundamental to any geography curriculum. When I taught in Bermuda I had to teach rivers and yet no river on the island (but part of English ks3 😂)

@lcgeography @nsgeolegend @kate_stockings @MaryMyatt I would say glaciation is as equally as important as rivers and coasts in shaping landscapes in Northern Ireland - definitely seen some drumlins there.
@lcgeography @nsgeolegend @kate_stockings @MaryMyatt I think designing a curriculum framework that everyone is happy with is a difficult job (that’s been my current experience over the last 2 years) especially when you also have to future proof it.
@lcgeography @kate_stockings @nsgeolegend @MaryMyatt That by including coasts and rivers it can be repetitive. I guess rephrasing the question might go something like ‘will teachers treat coasts and rivers as an extension of ks4/5 instead of a ks3? Will there be different case studies and skills (mandated) so less repetition?’
The Hague is a fascinating ‘case study’ for sustainable transport. This city is so clean!
@kate_stockings @lcgeography @nsgeolegend I am with Kate on this and I think this really leads into @MaryMyatt Ambitious Year Project. Side question - can there be a guarantee that students are not taught the same thing at post 14 qualification because teachers are worried about exam results?

@ModestTeacher 7.30 until 3 here in Peru. Teachers are mandated to stay until 3.30
