Sovereign AI continues to ramp up, @nvidia continues to dominate as we shared in @CounterPointTR Sovereign AI Index. @FirebirdAI an emerging AI cloud, launched the CIS region’s largest AI factory in Armenia, establishing a new AI computing hub powered by @nvidia accelerated computing and @high-performance AI infrastructure.  Firebird plans to deploy more than 70,000 NVIDIA Rubin and Blackwell GPUs and 300 megawatts of AI infrastructure capacity in Armenia by the end of 2027 and roughly 2GW of capacity in Armenia, Kazakhstan and additional markets. Firebird’s AI factory is designed from the ground up to turn compute into revenue. Anthropic's announcement that it will start a drug discovery business is an interesting one. Big pharma is a very profitable business and is increasingly leveraging synthetic data and AI. I wouldn't be surprised to see them try to purchase one of these companies in the lower right quadrant if Anthropic Science takes off. On October 7th last year a list of @OpenAI's 30 1 trillion token users was leaked and companies like @duolingo, @shoppify_sa and @salesforce were hailed as pioneers in AI tokenomics. But markets have not been kind since then to the 7 companies on that list who are public (except for @datadog). Is Wall Street overreacting or is #AgenticAI coming for everyone's lunch?

Some reflections on #NVIDIA GTC 2026 — 600+ sessions and the telco story was impossible to ignore. 1/ NVIDIA is making a serious move into telecom. This isn't just chips anymore — they're building an ecosystem. Nokia, Ericsson, Samsung, Amdocs, SIs all in the room. A real challenger to Huawei/ZTE is taking shape. 2/ The AI Grid concept is gaining real traction. SoftBank, T-Mobile and Comcast are all in — they see genuine revenue opportunity at the network edge, especially around Physical AI services. Monetizing the edge? We've heard it before. But the ecosystem is finally mature enough to take seriously. 3/ Agentic AI as a network optimizer was a major theme. Native AI in 6G networks is the most promising development for the standard so far — and if it's baked into the architecture rather than bolted on, that's a real differentiator. 4/ Sovereign AI is changing everything. Telcos from Canada, Singapore, Germany, South Africa, Indonesia and more were all discussing how geopolitical concerns are reshaping infrastructure spend. This is a demand driver that runs independent of normal enterprise AI cycles.

I am here at @nvidiaGTC 2026 which is just wrapping up here in San Jose and what an amazing show it was. I was expecting to see lots of interesting announcements, demos and panel discussions about #PhysicalAI, #SovereignAI, #AgenticAI and #telecoms and the event did not disappoint. I will be writing about key takeaways when I am back in Japan as will the rest of the @CounterPointTR team who attended.
