My kids held all their vulnerable talks with me right after lights out. I'll admit, the urge to tell them to hold it til morning was usually on my mind. But instead, I sat, or laid down, next to them... sometimes I grew impatient... bc it never ever came quickly; but they eventually found the space and peace to share. Interestingly, this played out more frequently w my son than my daughters. Growing minds need to feel secure, and calmed down... and then can release their worry. Being a mom is the highest honor I've ever achieved. Trust and safe harbor is the gift we share. 💙🌸

This is in response to the radical DSA infiltration of the Democrat Brand and internal schism. Sadly, DC divisiveness over 12 years has tainted both the R and D brands. Do you know how many people claim "political homelessness"? Many. Someone recently proposed we all start a brand new party. Call it "The Middle 60" Kennedy Dems and Reagan Republicans co-operate, and let the tail ends fail.

Ohh! I've been think we need legislation to require *official party endorsement before any candidate can run on the ballot under that party’s label (Dem, Rep) This would protect parties’ right to choose their standard bearers; it stops outsiders from hijacking a partisan brand, and it provides clarity to a partisan populace. No more shills- greater transparency. Should I draft this legislation? Something to think about.

Please give me a minute here to share my thoughts. 1) Reagan Republicans and Kennedy Democrats represent the working class under one big tent. Facts, Full stop. 2) DSA represents the underclass. By using "coalition of the fringes" political strategy, they are taking seats across the nation. The problem with fringe coalition politics is that generally none of the fringes have anything in common, for example: Pro-Palestine activists clash with the LGB; Secular atheists, who want to remove God from government, have zero common ground with Islamists who want more God in government; Staid feminists (TERFs) have conflict with transgender activists; etc, etc, ETC. Yet, they all band together to vote in DSA candidates who dog-whistle to them, under the stolen label of "D" as seen in the video below (pls watch, it's confessional.) 3) What goes wrong in "coalition of the fringes" is that eventually, they start to turn on one another. You don’t have to believe me -- the historical record shows that all movements comprised of fringe coalitions fail-- No, not just modern ones I’ve mentioned, but throughout time, always, it ends in violence. It’s just a fact of socialism. Let’s go back to my point number one. Kennedy Democrats and Reagan Republicans do not need a coalition of the fringe: We Need To Defeat it, cooperatively. How? It can only be done through a political strategy called "One Big Tent." That’s where the middle 60% on the bell curve agree to get in the same boat and row in the same direction against the tide. THAT is the space where America can continue to progress and go forward safely, sanely, comfortably, and successfully…. Under "One Big Tent," people who don’t agree with each other on every issue, but do agree with each other on most issues, and absolutely agree with each other on outcomes, form a voting bloc of cohesion to advance a sane agenda. As a GenX'er, I grew up in a world where normal Democrats and normal Republicans somehow were able to get things done across the aisle without infighting. Mark my words: we need to return to it. Today, more than ever, we need more of One Big Tent and less Fringe Coalition. If this doesn’t happen, what few lifeboats we have will soon be capsized… the nation will drown. Cynical? Perhaps. RI House Republican FY27 Budget Amendment - Occupational Licensure Compact Implementation Occupational licensure compacts are a practical and effective way for Rhode Island to address its ongoing shortage of health care workers; streamlining the process of allowing qualified and licensed professionals from other states to practice in Rhode Island. These compacts have been embraced by the General Assembly; since 2023, the state entered nine compacts and even expands upon them in the budget. To implement these compacts, however, departments require manpower and technology improvements. House Republicans introduced this amendment to address just that. By directing additional resources to the Department of Health, the state will be able to get the ball rolling implementation of current and future compacts so that Rhode Islanders can continue to receive the quality of care they deserve and expect. Leader Michael Chippendale @MikeWChip statement on Occupational Licensure Compact implementation: Rhode Island has a serious health care access crisis, and for years the General Assembly has claimed to recognize the problem by passing interstate licensure compacts intended to make it easier for qualified medical professionals to practice here. But passing a law and then refusing to fund its implementation is not leadership - it is political theater. The McKee Administration requested the resources necessary to implement these compacts yet failed to include the funding in the Governor’s budget. Then the House had an opportunity to correct that failure and also chose not to act. Our amendment would have provided a modest $334,951 investment to give the Department of Health the staffing capacity it says it needs to move these compacts from statute to reality. Instead, the state will continue sitting on laws it has already passed while Rhode Islanders struggle to find doctors, nurses, mental health providers, and other critical health care professionals. This is exactly the kind of empty policymaking that frustrates people. Everyone says they want more providers. Everyone says they understand the workforce shortage. But when given the chance to fund a practical, low-cost solution, the administration and the legislative majority went through the motions and failed to do what was necessary. Rhode Islanders do not need more speeches about health care access. They need the state to implement the tools it has already approved.
