It costs $20 because this kid factored in somebody bringing it to him in an Uber.” [Audience groans] “You can get one for $2, and you could buy it in the supermarket. And somebody said they feed a family of eight on $20 by buying ingredients like we used to do.” “This is from the Fed. Okay, two-thirds of Americans consider groceries to be unaffordable. Maybe they are, but wages rose in the last decade, including the pandemic, 46%. Food prices rose 34%. So wages outpaced them by the numbers." “What we spend on food at the beginning of the last century, it was 42% of the budget, and then you go through the years, 1965, it was down to 15%. Now it’s under 10%, but including eating out more." “Also, Gen Z, I never realized this until people started writing about it. As they reach their late 20s now, they’re getting much richer than Gen X was. Millennials and Gen Z at age 30, their net worth is around $118,000." “Gen X’s was $53,000, like half of that. But Gen X never complained. You gotta love Gen X. They are the quietest f*cking church mice.” SIDE NOTE: I will say that housing and rent prices are too damn high. But that also doesn't discount the fact that kids these days are way too entitled and think they deserve to have food delivered AND have it be affordable. If you want convenience, it's gonna cost you. Don't complain when you're on a budget and too lazy to make the burrito yourself for 1/10th the price.

A familiar act of mainstream media sophistry: work backward from a partisan verdict and then call the result analysis. The truth is wages are up for Americans across the distribution, but importantly earnings growth for Main Street workers at the 25th earnings percentile was 5.5% year over year in the latest data this past quarter—more than three times the growth experienced by workers at the 75th percentile. Median weekly earnings also rose a robust 4.6%, well outpacing inflation. This marks a stark improvement from the loss of purchasing power Main Street Americans experienced during the Biden Administration. Families have not forgotten the pain of Biden-era policies. But President Trump is turning the tide. The fact is, lower-wage workers are leading, median workers are gaining, and the pundit-driven K-shaped economy narrative does not hold up. BLS has published the wage data for all to see, including journalists willing to look past the haze of their hostility toward the President.

🇺🇸 PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT NUKING THE FILIBUSTER MEANS: There is a serious misunderstanding. People are under the impression that Trump is talking about "ending the filibuster rule" altogether. That's impossible. Voting for ending the filibuster rule would require a two-thirds majority for cloture. That's not gonna happen. Trump is just talking about "suspending the filibuster for this one thing." That's easy to do. All you need is a Senator to raise a point of order that this bill should pass with a majority. The Chair then denies his point of order. The Senate appeals the Chair's decision. And then you get a majority vote on whether to overturn the chair. This requires only 51 Republicans. Once you've done that then the SAVE America Act can come up for a vote and pass. That is what "nuking the filibuster" means. Thune is giving the impression that Trump wants the entire filibuster rule overturned. That's not what's happening. We've already done this before in 2013 and 2017 with judicial appointments. And we still have the filibuster don't we?
