The Nuclear Family is a Technology of Western Civilization – So It Needs to Be Destroyed With All the Others. The nuclear family is not a natural unit. It is a technology – the most successful child-rearing, wealth-transmitting, civilization-building technology ever developed. And like every other Western technology that works, it is currently being systematically dismantled. 1. Every society in history has organized reproduction and child-rearing somehow. The Eastern clan, the tribe, the loyalty network – these are the alternatives. They work, up to a point, for the societies that run on them. They produce strong internal solidarity and fierce external competition. They also produce nepotism over meritocracy, loyalty over competence, the network over the individual. Low-trust societies stay small and family-based – unable to build the large institutions, the corporations, the rule of law that require trust between strangers. The nuclear family is the Western solution: small enough to invest maximally in children, open enough to produce citizens who can cooperate beyond the clan. 2. It is a technology in the precise sense: a solution to a problem, developed through trial and error over millennia, encoding accumulated wisdom that is not immediately visible to those who inherit it. It aligned incentives with extraordinary precision – the man invested in children he was certain were his, the woman had a committed partner for the most vulnerable years, the children had two adults with maximum skin in the game. And crucially: it introduced a free market for mating rather than arranged marriage. Individuals chose their partners – which meant attraction, compatibility, and genuine commitment rather than clan negotiation. The most intimate human bond brought into the competitive, meritocratic framework that produces everything else the West does well. 3. The attack follows the standard pattern. Reframe the technology as oppression. Celebrate the alternatives as liberation. Restructure the incentives – welfare systems that replace the husband, legal systems that make marriage a liability for men, cultural systems that mock the committed father. Then watch the institution dissolve. 4. The data is not ambiguous. Children raised by married biological parents outperform children from every other arrangement on every measurable outcome. This is one of the largest and most replicated findings in social science. The nuclear family is not one lifestyle choice among many equivalent options. It is the arrangement that produces the best human beings at scale. Which is precisely why it had to go. 5. The deepest damage is not measurable. The nuclear family was the primary transmission mechanism of civilization – values, habits, language, culture, and identity passed from one generation to the next in the most intensive possible environment. Destroy this transmission mechanism and you don’t just produce worse outcomes for individuals. You break the chain. The torch cannot change hands if the hands are gone. 6. The replacement is the state. When the family dissolves, the state expands to fill the functions the family performed. This is not a coincidence. It is the design. Tocqueville described it: the soft despotism that replaces every horizontal bond with a vertical dependency on the government shepherd. The nuclear family was the primary horizontal bond. Its dissolution is the prerequisite for the complete vertical dependency the administrative state requires. 7. The nuclear family is not a conservative preference or a religious requirement. Defend it not because it is traditional. Defend it because it works – and because what is offered in its place doesn’t. The clan and the tribe produce loyalty. The administrative state produces dependency. The nuclear family, with its free market for mating and its maximum investment in the next generation, produces citizens. That is the one thing the system replacing it cannot afford to produce.

The good thing about a society having standard expectations of you is answering the “why” of your life is a painful and difficult exercise even for intelligent and self aware individuals. For the avg person it’s basically impossible. Motherhood is a good expectation. It’s inline with your biology, there is that mothering instinct in there. It makes you think outside yourself, an external goal another thing to care about beyond the self. This alone is very difficult to achieve and helps one become more community minded. It also gives one a template from falling into terrible life choices due to being unable to foresee negative consequences. These templates aren’t rigid, they’re not law. They exist to help shape people, not break them. They’re there to force you to come up with a reason why you should take a different path. Maybe you want to heal the sick, or fight for justice, or explore space, sure become a doctor or lawyer or scientist. There are expectations to every template, but most aren’t. If your goal is simply material comfort, one has to ask why is your life’s ambition so inwardly focused? Is it fair to all those that came before that you set down the torch they carried? Do you really just want to be cozy for a few decades then die? Are you the only thing that matters? Our culture has both promoted the abolishment of the old templates and has given no thought to these important questions. The overwhelming cultural attitude of “vibes” or “go with the flow” is leading a lot of people to disaster.

They meticulously produced masterpieces all year long, and yet the French government and French people in general spat openly to their face. two years ago, they cast the most complete and polished statue of Jeanne d'Arc I've ever seen: a 4.5m equestrian bronze covered in gold leaf, and they put it on a public square in Nice, right in front of the Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc church. It came out of their small foundry in Meaux, and traveled almost 900 km across the entire country to get to Nice. This is the best testimonial of French craftsmanship you could ask for, at a time when we outsource literally everything abroad. So what did bureaucrats do once there ? They tore it down. Officially the contract got canceled on a procurement technicality, no public tender. The real reason is that the atelier is suspected of being right-wing affiliated for praising christian symbols. They produce a monument the whole city should be proud of, and it is removed because of political assumptions. France messed up once again. Bureaucrats have become so blinded by ideology that we can no longer praise talent and ambition. They drive out the last people still doing great things, while becoming completely blind to the objective idea of beauty in the name of fake moral values. It's right to leave when you get more recognition abroad than from your own. At the opposite, the second they looked west, Peter Thiel came in with funding and Elon publicly praised their work. Their next big thing will stay in the US and they deserve it.

I cannot remain silent on this. The Pope’s decision to do this now, right as Europe is witnessing yet another wave of murders of its citizens by migrants (think of Louis, Christian, Henry, and the countless others) cannot be dismissed as a mere public relations blunder. It is a painful slap in the face of the Christian native peoples of Europe and all those who lost their children and loved ones as a result of mass migration. Where is the Church’s charity and compassion toward them? Why do we not hear a word from the Pope about the 250,000 white British girls who were raped? Why do we not hear a word about the attacks on Europe’s Churches and Christian communities? Why do we not hear a word about the millions of Europeans who are unsafe and estranged, fast becoming a minority in their own homelands? The Church’s silence regarding the threats European Christians face is already deafening. Combining it with telling Europeans that they must do more to “integrate and protect migrants”, is adding insult to injury. As a new Catholic, I have generally tried to refrain from critiquing the Pope, for we do not lightly challenge the father. This, however, is not a matter of dogma or infallible teaching. The Pope has chosen to make a political and pastoral statement on migration, and on such prudential questions the faithful may legitimately form and express their own judgment. And my opinion on this is clear: Europe does not have a moral obligation to house the entire world, especially not when it comes at the cost of civilizational destruction. x.com/EWTNews/status…
