These statistics from the @CanSG_org conference should give everyone pause. Up to: • 50% incontinence after phalloplasty • 54% sexual dysfunction after phalloplasty • 87% urinary symptoms on testosterone • 65% genital discomfort on testosterone Before we encourage young people toward irreversible medical interventions, we should be asking whether they and their families are being fully informed about the possible lifelong consequences.

In our trawl of news reports of sexual crimes in leisure centre changing rooms we’ve noticed that some leisure centres crop up more than once, and some several times. To have one sexual crime on your premises is ‘unfortunate’, to have more than one is completely unacceptable and avoidable. What are local authorities and leisure providers doing to keep women and girls safe? The answer seems to be… not much. In Northern Ireland, at least TWELVE incidents of voyeurism were reported in the mixed-sex changing rooms at Omagh Leisure Centre between 2014 and 2020. During the centre refurbishment in 2013-14, single-sex changing rooms were converted to mixed-sex and lo and behold…more sexual crimes as predatory males made the most of easy access to their victims. 1/6
