Inside were copies of every performance review he'd ever written about me. Recommendation letters addressed "To Whom It May Concern." Emails from clients praising my work. Notes he'd kept after meetings where I solved problems nobody else could. At the bottom was one handwritten letter. It said, "I knew one day you'd outgrow this company." "My job was never to make you stay." "It was to make sure you were ready when it was time to leave." Years later, I've forgotten my old salary. I've forgotten my job title. But I've never forgotten the manager who understood that great leaders don't measure success by how many people they keep... They measure it by how many people leave because they're ready for something bigger.

@pookiepolls But all of those kingdoms were of African origin. You're the one who refuses to acknowledge that the African has more claim to African land than the European. And the same is true for Europe.

@DaanBarnard That and our infrastructure is badly deteriorating.... it's getting harder to provide services to the people because the facilities that provide those services are all in bad shape. The situation is still better than during apartheid though... for Africans.

@pookiepolls Africans migrating in Africa is normal. It's our home, our soil, our continent. What is not normal is us migrating to Europe, then claiming their land as ours. We are Africans. Of course we Africans come from somewhere. But that somewhere is in Africa.
