@blakestbanter The benefits of driving up pitch counts for its own sake are pretty negligible. The strategy should be to swing at pitches you can do damage on — if that’s the first pitch, great (although I doubt all these first pitches are middle-middle meatballs)

@OakTreeStatus Yeah, that’s true. It’s more a criticism of People On Here taking these signings as evidence that the FO has some coherent idea of what “works.” And purely as a fan, I’d rather watch McCade Brown struggle and maybe figure something out than watch Jeremy Guthrie 2.0

The Rockies announced today that they have agreed to one-year contracts to avoid arbitration with LHP Lucas Gilbreath and OF Sam Hilliard. Additionally, the Rockies have non-tendered RHP Cal Quantrill and INF Brendan Rodgers. The Rockies have 38 players on the 40-man roster.
