I went from P3R to P5R to then P4G. So when I got to P4G the dungeons were kicking my ASS! I remember telling @shiningbindx how much harder P4Gs dungeons were and how much they challenged me (in a good way.) I did enjoy P5Rs dungeons but I agree they feel SO different entirely.

@JMeniru65756 4 makes better use of the mechanics of the game and 5 is having puzzles that really don’t compete with the PS2 era dungeon puzzle design . I rather lean into what the mechanics support

@xbolt6678 I think for me, mementos was the best idea in terms procerduralky generated and then designed, that combo together I think worked well

@MenuCombat I think the Palaces are a bit better in concept than execution. They start off really fun, but soon become a chore. A few of them have neat puzzles, but then you get to Shido’s palace which is just a slog. I think the big takeaway is that Tartarus is way overhated.

@MenuCombat Hot take but I definitely agree! The more involved dungeons of P5 are a huge chore bc they aren't particularly clever or challenging, and its even worse on repeat plays. P4's layouts get kind of repetitive and monotonous but I still vastly prefer them

@MenuCombat If I may add my own hot take, Persona 4's dungeons are effectively just a split-up Tartarus with more visual variety and some QOL and for that I think Tartarus is way overhated and the dungeon design of those two games are both good and of similar quality

One of the coolest things in #JRPG history is how #MonsterRancher used to use CDs to generate monsters. I loved using my God Father's music collection for this! #BeresHammond classic tunes could spawn a creature!
