Had a great chat with a really cool guy yesterday. He shared an audit report from a well-known security firm that audited a @CantonNetwork / DAML project. Afterward, I found another public DAML audit from the same firm and used both audit scopes to test our @ValvesSec security tool. The results were very encouraging: • It identified 10 of the 12 validated issues reported across both audits. • The two missed findings had been downgraded by our tool because they were assessed as informational ones. • It also flagged 50+ additional potential issues that we're currently validating. Teams most likely paid significant amounts for audits like these. If you're building on Canton/DAML, we'd love to help.

After reading an audit report, ask yourself: What will I check differently in the next codebase? If the answer is nothing, you learned a story. You haven’t changed how you audit yet.

Currently in a security engagement, and tomorrow we’re starting another one. Work is being done. Protocols are being secured! 🔐
Web3 security is a thinking job. Why do we sometimes treat it like an endurance test? 🧠 There’s always another report to read, another protocol to understand, another thing you feel you should already know. So you keep going. Even when nothing is really sinking in anymore. Then you step away, do something completely unrelated, and something you struggled with earlier starts making sense. That’s the idea behind the incubation effect. Sometimes, a little distance from a problem helps things click. The difficult part is letting yourself take that break without feeling guilty about it. Especially when your feed makes it look like everyone else is learning, building and finding things around the clock. Being serious about security doesn’t have to mean being permanently online. Sometimes you need to learn more. Sometimes you need to let what you’ve already learned settle. 🧘♂️
