@UrUnpaidPundit @honorablesaint I do the same. I asked a priest if it is ok to do this and he said that it is. It is now instinctual for me to bow at the moment of consecration, lift my head to look upon Jesus when the Eucharist is raised and then drop my head again as He is lowered to the altar 🙏

@CatholicPebble This reminds me of an account at San Sebastián de Garabandal in Spain where Our Lady is believed to have appeared to children in the 1960s (not yet approved by the Church). The account mentions the shock & sadness of the children when Our Lady explained to them about abortion

They say the devil hates his servants the most. Here's why... This painting is called Allegory of Satan, or Lord of the World, painted around 1900 by the Polish artist Ludwik Stasiak. It is not the devil you might expect. There are no flames, no chaos and no horns leering out of the dark. Stasiak painted something far more unsettling. Here the devil sits enthroned like a ruler of the world, with a sardonic grin on his face, surrounded by the symbols of earthly power: wealth, ambition, domination, and death. Evil, he suggests, never arrives as something horrifying that we instantly reject. It arrives as something attractive. It looks like success. It looks like money, and status, and control. It looks like everything the world tells us to want. And that is what makes the painting feel so modern, more than a century after it was made. Stasiak was working at the turn of the twentieth century, an age obsessed, like ours, with progress and fortune and getting ahead. And he was warning that the most dangerous evil is not the kind that frightens us, but the kind that seduces us, the kind we serve willingly because it promises to make us powerful. Which brings us back to the old saying. Look closely at what lies beneath his throne. Scattered at its base are the skulls of the powerful, still wearing their crowns and their helmets in death, the very people who traded their souls for money and power. And he sits above them, amused, because the joke is on them. This is why the devil hates his servants the most. He does not respect them for serving him. He despises them for it, because they handed over the only thing that ever mattered in exchange for things that rot. That is the real power of the painting: Stasiak did not depict a devil we would run from, he painted a devil we would kneel to, and follow, and call our lord, mistaking our own chains for a crown. He was only giving form to a warning as old as the Gospels themselves: "No one can serve two masters. You cannot serve both God and money."

You know what shook me when I was Muslim? The story of Hosea. God tells a prophet to marry a woman He knows will betray him. She does. She runs to other men. She ends up enslaved, sold, used up, worthless to the world. And God tells Hosea to go BUY HER BACK. To pay money for his own wife who cheated on him, and love her again. Hosea 3. I thought it was the most humiliating command in the Bible. Why would any man do that? Then I realized I was the wife. I gave my heart to everything but God. I chased other masters. I sold myself cheap. I made myself worthless. And God looked at me, the betrayer, and didn’t say “you’re not worth it.” He said, “Name the price. I’m buying her back.” That’s the Gospel. God doesn’t wait for the unfaithful to come crawling back clean. He pays to redeem them while they’re still dirty. Islam told me to make myself worthy of God. Hosea showed me a God who pays to redeem the unworthy. The cross was Him naming the price. Praise the Lord.

The more I learn about Catholicism, the more respect I have for it. 🙏 Today I learned about confession, and I’ll be honest… I don’t know if I’d have the courage to walk in there. 😂 This isn’t me making fun of confession. It’s me trying to understand why it has meant so much to Catholics for generations. The more I learn, the more I realize there’s a beautiful purpose behind it. As always, if I misunderstood something, teach me. I’ve really appreciated how the Catholic community has welcomed these conversations. All love. All respect. 🙏❤️

Brittneyrose Torres was a surrogate carrying triplets, 2 boys and 1 girl. The buyers told her to abort the girl. Brittneyrose was to receive at least $25- 30k for carrying one baby and $5,000 extra for carrying two or more in her contract with the parents. The biological parents claimed the contract included a provision which allowed them to tell Brittneyrose to abort, and they withheld payments unless she ended their daughter’s life. The parents had been excited about the triplets in the beginning, then around 12 weeks they changed their minds. Brittneyrose said she offered to adopt the baby girl, but the parents refused. Price tags. Contracts. Payments. Surrogacy reduces human beings to products and commodities, to be discarded at the convenience of the buyer.
