While the internet argued about a/c, I was climbing the Capitoline Hill in 35° Celsius in search for the Juno Moneta’s temple, the birthplace of Rome’s mint and the very word 'money'. I didn't find it. But I enjoyed studying history while literally walking on it, anyway. Eternal city, eternal coins? Not really - history teaches us currency systems eventually die with the greed of those who control it. But we don't learn from the past lessons very well, do we? 🤷‍♀️

I must admit, sometimes I am a wee slow.... I had been using Ledger in the past just because…I used to do shitcoins before my Bitcoin Anno Domini and I already bought L and that was it. I didn't do much research. Someone recommended it so I rolled with it. I think I was stuck in the so called 'sunk cost fallacy' - keeping it just because I’d already paid, even though the UX felt buggy and I hated the constant software and hardware resets. It felt cumbersome and I cannot say I was a fan of the KYC push. Recently, I got gifted trezor by @Trezor when I was in Prague. Only then I did my homework🫪 I know, I know...🤪 Now I can see why Trezor stands out: ✅️It is a fully open-source firmware & hardware (community can audit the code). ✅️It has no blind signing — full transaction visibility on screen. ✅️It has zero KYC - it is privacy-first. ✅️It has Shamir....shamir what? I have no idea what that means....always something new to learn...another rabbit hole... Ledger, on the other hand, has its most sensitive part (the secure element chip that stores your private keys) running on software that Ledger keeps completely secret. So, you have to trust them! That creates vulnerability. And they’ve had repeated customer data leaks... Bonus for me - @Trezor is a Czech company. And I know, we do many things well....like beer 🍺, Semtex 💥, and things around Bitcoin 🧡 Does this feel like a paid promo? I am just genuinely excited about my new Trezor. Do you have Trezor or some other 'hw wallet'? Am I missing anything? What are the downsides?

@Theoctopussy0 I was always soft. I checked the immaculate seal, initialised it myself, generated fresh seed on-device. Once I hoard more then my modest 🥜, I can get a brand new trezor. #paranoiagustified
