@Miss_S_Gibbons I’ll go up through the years with them! For me it’s also an exam board switch which may have contributed to their decision; and from talking to others all schools seem to start KS4 at various points and often prefer to keep the same teacher with groups from then on if possible☺️

@Miss_S_Gibbons I’m mid-way through my ECT years but switching schools for next year - both seem completely different in their approach! I had Y11 this year and really struggled with not having taught them previously; whereas new school has given me lots of KS3 with the understanding that (1/2)

@Mr_AmosECT also: find out how to set / send cover *before* you wake up feeling like death. On that note: take sick days when you need to. I had to spend nearly a week in bed in November because I’d worked through a cold a couple of weeks earlier and ended up a hundred times worse 😅

@Mr_AmosECT I’m almost at the end of my first ECT year and some of the main things I wish I’d been told earlier are: Look at your timetable and work out when you’ll plan and when you’ll mark; always do your printing the day before (at least); and always have chocolate or snacks in a drawer.
