@stackerco @RigdonNancy3 She came across believable to me. Not saying every detail is proven, but the broader claim doesn’t seem far fetched. Given how much unchecked authority MPs have over young missionaries, it seems very plausible that some have used that authority in harmful or inappropriate ways.

I have a buddy who has been an artist for both Dreamworks and Warner Brothers for years. He’s worked digital for a while and just started doing a lot of his work with a VR headset. He said that it makes the work so much faster but still does his own projects on the side using paint, pencil, and ink. Pretty amazing process. Thanks for sharing this!

@pimomormon Ok, I definitely think his position is ridiculously harsh and un-christlike, but it also doesn’t make sense. He’s not going to let her “leave the church” in his house? He’s not going to let her “get an abortion” in his house? 🤔 A virtue signal if I’ve ever seen one. 🙄

The @Ch_JesusChrist wants excommunication to look local when someone is being pushed out. But it wants rebaptism to run through the First Presidency when that person wants back in. That setup lets the Q15 avoid public accountability for removal while preserving ultimate authority over potential restoration. It is accountability at arm’s length, with ultimate authority kept firmly at the top.

(Responding to all of your tweets) I think that still largely proves the point. The First Presidency may not be directly involved in every membership withdrawal, but they retain final approval for restoration in the cases the institution clearly views as most sensitive or threatening. That is the asymmetry I’m pointing to. Local leaders can carry the burden of removal, while top leaders reserve final authority over return.
