This man deserves to be better known, not just by the medical community, but by the wider world. He tried and succeeded in lengthening and improving the quality of life of so many type 1 diabetics (many of which are children). He did not do it for fame or awards, but because he observed something that he was unable to ignore, despite the immense professional pressure to discount, minimize or brush it aside - carbohydrate restriction, coupled with sufficient protein and fat from animal foods is great medicine. He put his patients before his colleagues and profession. Thank you, Dr.Bernstein. We are all in your debt

Corruption? I was contacted by a journalist from a major medical publication. She stated that they received a 2 million dollar "grant" to publish an article on GLP-1 vs Bariatric surgery for obesity. I don't think any of my comments will make the publication! I educated her for 30 minutes about metabolic health. Her response "I am surprised by your response, one of your old partners is on record saying that these drugs are a miracle medical breakthrough because people don't have to change their lifestyle and they can still lose weight and get healthier." I told her that is why it is one of my old partners and not a current partner. She went on to say that cutting out processed food is not sustainable. I asked her if shooting an expensive drug for the rest of your life was more sustainable. I invited her to my Zoom community group meeting so that she could talk to my patients directly and hear their stories. Unfortunately she did not have time for that. Maybe if I offered a huge grant should be more interested. The really sad part is that money will prevent her from ever hearing the truth... Or at least admitting to it. This is what we are up against.
