Bleating about the Online Safety Act when you had at least 4yrs to make your voice heard is disappointing. The act is a start, a step towards keeping vulnerable adults and young people safer, and will, ofcourse evolve. But, what would I know?

However, it was so strongly pushed before that time it seems to be a relic of an era that just won’t disappear.

I’m back in Year 6 from September - last time based there since 2017. I’m still part-time working three days per week but will not be teaching across the whole school this academic year. It’s really nice knowing and getting to work with all children across the school (1/2).

@RachelOrr @primarythink Ah yes, the plenary followed by the mini plenary. I remember doing extended half term cross curricular projects based on contexts back in the Creative Partnerships days. They were so fruitful.

@RachelOrr Yes, I think it is probably worth paying the extra to use the app. Those car parks at Bishop Auckland don't have the option to pay by app which is quite frustrating.

Not a lot of people understand this... but you actually don’t have to have an opinion about everything. You don’t have to decide if something is good or bad. Marcus Aurelius says limiting the amount of opinions we have is one of the most powerful things we can do in life.

September 2025 marks my 19th year as a qualified teacher (22nd year if you include teacher training). I have no idea where that time has gone which is quite humbling. I am a completely different person and teacher compared to when I first started.

I logged onto Twitter / X for the first time in a while after I got an alert to say that there was a data breach. It made me realise how disconnected I have become from social media technologies. This has been a very conscious move and one that I don't regret (1/2).
