In Islam, providing for your wives is a fundamental duty and an act of worship. You are not obligated to have them work, and any earnings they make remain entirely theirs without requiring them to contribute to household expenses. The Quran states that men are the protectors and maintainers (qawwamun) of women. This means you are fully responsible for providing food, clothing, shelter, and overall financial security. According to scholarly consensus, if your wives choose to work, their income is solely their personal property. They are not required to spend their money on the household, and you still retain the 100% obligation to provide for them. Along with financial support, the Quran commands men to live with their wives in kindness and fairness. Providing for them with a good heart is a heavy responsibility, but also brings blessings (barakah) to a marriage. Could you tell me a bit more about how you plan your family finances, or if there is a specific goal or concern you are trying to address with your household arrangements?

Abba, who was once abducted by bandits, narrated how the driver of the vehicle they boarded allegedly led them into the k¥dna0ping incident and then escaped. Abba said they boarded a vehicle from Gusau to Sokoto at the official New Gusau Motor Park. He was traveling together with other victims, Maryam and Yasmeen. According to him, shortly after they began the journey, they stopped at a filling station to buy fuel and then continued their trip. After covering some distance, the driver started complaining that the vehicle had developed a fault. They stopped briefly for him to inspect it before proceeding again. When they got close to a military checkpoint, where soldiers had stopped vehicles for inspection, the driver allegedly refused to stop and simply drove past the checkpoint. A short distance later, Abba said he suddenly heard people praying and began seeing men with long hair, charms, and guns. Before he could fully understand what was happening, he looked toward the driver’s seat and discovered that the driver was no longer there. The driver had fled, and no one saw how or where he escaped, leaving the passengers behind.
