@packers_access That dead cap number in 2028 is a little misleading. Assuming the 2026 and 2027 option bonuses are exercised, those will prorate and the 2028 dead cap number shoots up to $80.85M. He will be a Packer through at least 2028

@curtis93969 @Jason_OTC Assuming the 2026 option bonus is exercised, yes, it will prorate and the 2027, 2028, & 2029 dead money will increase substantially. It sounds like $16M of the 2027 & 2028 base salaries will vest early also, so I believe the 2027 dead cap will actually be $94M

Great breakdown from Mike as always. I think a key point he noted was this will be either a 2 year $115M deal or a 4 for $177M deal based on the fact $55M of 2028 money guarantees on 4/1/27. After the 2026 season, the 49ers could post June 1 release Purdy with reasonable dead cap hits of $42.8M in 2027 and $38.6M in 2028. Once that $55M of 2028 money guarantees, it virtually locks Purdy in for 2 more years as post 6/1 releasing him after 2027 would result in a $70M+ dead cap hit in 2028
