Chronic lung diseases can reduce oxygen levels in the body. Over time, this affects the blood vessels in the lungs and increases pressure within them.
We’ve talked about heart disease and sickle cell disease as causes of pulmonary hypertension. But did you know lung disease can also lead to Pulmonary Hypertension? And it's not limited to smoking-related conditions, even lung infections people usually recover from.
