I fear this is going to upset people, but a genuine question. Why, 11 years after same-sex marriage, 20 years after civil partnerships and 58 years after the legalisation of homosexual acts, is Pride such a big deal? I understand why people marched when there was still legal discrimination. But being gay is now surely just one among many legal sexual preferences. We don't hold marches to celebrate voyeurism or foot fetishism or whatever. I ask, by the way, as someone who supported the equalisation of the age of consent and civil partnerships long before my party came round to the idea. And I note that the big corporates who now make the celebration semi-compulsory were nowhere to be seen when it genuinely was a question of equal rights under the law.

This government has done some incredibly evil things, in the time that it’s been in power, but today it sunk to even lower depths. That minister’s name is @jessphillips and she makes me physically sick. Today that disgusting woman just announced that the already pathetically watered down enquiry into rape gangs, that would have looked at just 5 of the over 50 towns and cities in the UK, where they are known to operate, is no longer going ahead. This Labour government will do everything within its power to hide and cover for mass rapists and torturers of little girls. There are thousands of these vile monsters who have never been brought to justice. By deliberately doing nothing to investigate properly, and bring brutal justice upon these vile perpetrators, the government are complicit. They are enablers and accomplices in the mass rape, torture and murder of thousands of little girls in towns and cities all across Britain.
