@joeskyyy Actually I just realized what you meant. That is tough. I know Envoy can handle circuit breaking with service discovery, but you'd need to key off the fact a service is returning a particular response. Like say Envoy says this circuit is broken based on response, don't deploy.
@joeskyyy Spring has a contract generator. I'm not sure about Node. You could always push gRPC for client generation so there's a clean, common interface for all languages, having a top level service that the UI directly communicates with over REST.
@joeskyyy That is more difficult. Do services rely directly on others' contracts? If so, that's a bad sign. Typically you'd want to keep copies of relevant data in the services' databases, and update them via eventing. What language?
@joeskyyy I think it depends. I’m looking into something similar, and the conclusion I came up with is Istio. Are you concerned with presenting a seemless interface to the UI, or the actual dependency tree of the microservices?
This is, in my opinion, the best available introduction to TLA+ and why it's so valuable for software engineering. And the whole talk is only half an hour long, so why not give it a watch?
