@bobmarotte @Wade1865 @Mericamemed I am not contradicting your statement, which is true but why lasers are classified based on wavelength whereas in case of say, radio waves, they're classified based on frequency. In the end both are EM waves but classified differently based on end use.

Therefore, lasers are more fundamentally classified by their vacuum wavelength rather than by the wavelength they have inside a particular medium.
